Star King Nursery School

My first real memories are about the age of three and start with attending nursery school.

Star King Nursery School had an awesome yard- in my memory it was the size of a football field, but in reality I suspect it wasn’t any larger than many backyards.

I have many memories there including time huddling in a large concrete culvert with other kids and using it as a pseudo fort, picking sour grass through the chain link fence (my mouth still puckers at the thought) and eating tomato soup in white bowls on chilly, rainy days.

I can remember having to open my mouth and have my throat looked at prior to entering the schoolyard- maybe we should take a lesson from that old practice instead of just dousing our hands with anti-bacterial products! There was a great comfort dispensed at Star King.
